Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information we collect, why we use it, and the choices available to you when you use the Feeling Scope website or app.
Information we collect
- Account information: your email address and account identifier when you sign in.
- Content you provide: situations, feelings, follow-up text, and saved reflections you choose to create.
- Purchase information: your plan, consultation balance, purchase status, and related transaction identifiers. We do not receive or store your full payment-card number.
- Gift information: the purchaser and recipient email addresses, selected gift, redemption code, and redemption status.
- Technical information: limited information needed to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the service, such as request and error information.
How we use information
We use this information to provide reflections, manage sign-in, save eligible content, deliver Situation Follow-Ups, fulfill purchases and gifts, provide customer support, prevent misuse, and maintain the reliability and security of Feeling Scope.
AI reflections and your permission
OpenAI is our third-party AI provider. When you agree and request a reflection, our server sends OpenAI your situation and selected or typed feeling to generate all five perspectives and optional Advice. For a Situation Follow-Up, this includes the original situation and any update shown in the text box. These entries may contain personal or sensitive information about you or other people. Only include details you are comfortable sharing and have permission to share.
We do not add your account email, account identifier, payment details, or stored reflection history to the AI request. Details you type into your situation or feeling are still included. Typing alone does not send that text to OpenAI. Reading an existing reflection, switching between its included perspectives, and opening Advice do not make another AI request.
Before each new AI request, check the separate permission box and press the reflection button. You may decline by leaving it unchecked or withdraw permission by unchecking it before submitting. Changing the situation or feeling clears the box. Each request uses up that permission; you must agree again for a new request, retry, or follow-up. You can still read saved reflections, manage purchases, and request deletion without agreeing to AI sharing. Once a request has been sent, unchecking the box cannot recall it.
We request that OpenAI not store the response for later API retrieval. This is not a promise of zero retention: OpenAI may retain API content in abuse-monitoring logs, normally for up to 30 days, with exceptions for legal or safety needs; temporary model caches may also retain content. OpenAI states that API data is not used for model training unless the API customer opts in. See OpenAI’s API data controls. A deletion request to Feeling Scope does not instantly remove data already processed by OpenAI.
Service providers
We use service providers to operate Feeling Scope. These may include OpenAI for generating reflections, ChatGPT for sign-in, Cloudflare for hosting and data storage, RevenueCat for purchase-entitlement management, and Stripe for eligible web payment processing. They process information under their own terms and privacy policies and only as needed to provide their services to us.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your reflection content for targeted advertising. We may share information with the service providers described above, when required by law, to protect rights or safety, or as part of a business transfer subject to appropriate protections.
Retention and deletion
We keep information only as long as reasonably needed to operate the service, maintain purchase and account records, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. You may request deletion of your account and associated personal information by following the steps on our account deletion page. You can request deletion of eligible personal data while keeping your account by using our data deletion page. Some transaction or legal records may need to be retained where required by law.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, or a copy of your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To make a request, contact us using the email below. We may need to verify your identity.
Children
Feeling Scope is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect personal information. No online service can guarantee absolute security.
International use
Your information may be processed in countries other than the country where you live. Where required, we use appropriate protections for those transfers.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Feeling Scope changes. The effective date at the top will show when the latest version took effect.
